Game is Horrible! Big Alliance’s take over servers, not fun unless you join a huge alliance and have protection from the other huge Alliances…. boring

It’s a good game if you’re familiar with the genre. It’s sort of the natural evolution of evony, if you like that style of game. Downsides are clunky combat and certain non-intuitive tricks to protect yourself from people, but I think the power-creep is okay. Generally you start on the newest continent available, meaning there are people close to your power level near you from the start. This means that you’re always going to be around players of a similar strength.
It’s not perfect but it’s a strong step forward in empire-building browser games. It verges on 4X, but obviously browser games must have certain forcefully-awkward structures which you can make better with money– but money doesn’t just win you the game: there’s a limit on how many artifacts you can use, and the buyable advisors just expand your build queue and offer warnings. They make the game easier instead of giving you more power. I wish they could have done advertising, but at least the way they chose to earn money is more similar to an MMO’s monthly fees than straight up being stronger.
